Before co-founding Akashaverse, he served as Managing Director and Head of Transaction Banking Sales, Corporate, Commercial & Institutional Banking for South Asia at Standard Chartered Bank, where he led transformative business strategies and empowered teams across diverse markets.​

Rajesh Cherayil serves as the Global Chief Operating Officer for Akashaverse, bringing close to three decades of strategic, financial and operational experience across technology, finance, and digital platforms. He leads the platform’s mission to deliver AI-driven, immersive experiences that bridge digital innovation with real-world commerce.

Before joining Akashaverse, Rajesh has held leadership roles in the energy and technology sectors, involved in setting up, operating, investing in, and divesting energy assets across the value chain, managing private equity funds and renewable energy platforms, as well as handling investment and treasury operations across public and private capital markets. His last role was as Chief Strategy Officer at a leading electricity trading utility, where he guided transformational digital initiatives and investment strategy. He has also managed investments and project finance for leading energy and technology companies, demonstrating a proven track record of scaling ventures, driving organizational transformation, and delivering strategic and financial value across complex ecosystems.
